Privacy Policy
Current keeps your check-ins on your device. There's no backend, no user accounts, and no server-side storage of what you log. We do use a privacy-focused analytics service to see anonymized, aggregate usage — how many people check in, which screens get used — never tied to your name or identity. Here's what the app holds and why.
What We Store
Everything below lives on your device only and never leaves it:
- Your check-in history: the state you logged, the timestamp, and whether it came from the app or widget
- Your personalization selections from onboarding (e.g. "work stress", "poor sleep") used to surface contextual prompts
- Your notification time window preferences
- Your widget's most recent state and a short history of up to 5 check-ins, stored in a shared app group container so the widget can read them
Subscription status is fetched from Apple and RevenueCat each time you open the app.
What We Don't Collect
No name, email, location, or contacts. Current has no user accounts, and the content of your check-ins never leaves your device.
Analytics
Current uses PostHog to see how the app is used: screen views, app opens, and a few in-app actions like completing a check-in. These events are tied to a random device ID, not your name or an account, since Current doesn't have accounts. The state you logged and your personalization selections are never sent to PostHog.
Tracking
Current doesn't track you across other apps or websites. Your data is never sold or used for ads. The analytics above are anonymous, in-app usage stats, not cross-app tracking.
Third-Party Services
A few services are used to keep the app running:
- RevenueCat: Handles subscription purchases. May collect your App Store receipt and purchase identifiers to validate your subscription. revenuecat.com/privacy
- Apple App Store: All billing goes through Apple. Apple's privacy policy covers payment transactions.
- Apple Push Notification Service: Delivers the reminders you set up. No message content passes through our servers.
- PostHog: Anonymized, aggregate usage analytics — things like how many check-ins happen and which screens get used. It never receives your name, email, or the actual state you logged, and it doesn't track you across other apps. posthog.com/privacy
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Nothing goes through our servers.
Deleting Your Data
Delete the app and all your data goes with it. That's it.
Your Rights
Your data is on your device and you control it. California residents have the right to know what's collected and to request deletion. Since we don't hold anything on our end, the only copy is on your device. Questions? [email protected].
Kids
Current isn't for anyone under 13. If you think a child under 13 is using the app, reach out at [email protected].
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date here and push an app update. Keep using Current after that and you're good with the new version.
