Privacy Policy

Fabric Lens is a Chrome extension that detects fabric and material composition on clothing product pages and displays a visual breakdown. Your privacy matters. This policy explains what data the extension collects, how it is used, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Fabric Lens stores the following information locally within your browser only:

The only instance where any data leaves your device is when you voluntarily click the "Report this page" or "Report incorrect" button. In that case, the URL of the current page is sent to a private Google Sheet owned by the developer, used solely to identify pages where the extension did not work correctly so that detection can be improved. This action is entirely optional and user-initiated, limited to the page URL only, and not linked to any user identity or account.

Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, browsing history, cookies, tracking identifiers, or any other personal information. Fabric Lens has no user accounts and no backend database.

How the Extension Works

When you open the Fabric Lens popup on a product page, the extension reads the visible text content of that page locally within your browser to detect fabric and fiber information. This processing happens entirely on your device. No page content is ever sent to any server.

Third-Party Services

Fabric Lens uses the following third-party service, which has its own privacy practices:

Data Retention and Deletion

Session storage data exists only for the duration of your browser session and is automatically cleared when the session ends. Since no personal data is stored on our servers, there is nothing to request deletion of. To remove all locally cached data, simply close your browser or uninstall the extension.
